The Jackson Hole area has a full, year-round calendar of activities and special events. Of course, these activities tend to draw huge local and regional crowds, in addition to the throngs of tourists that flock to the area all year. If you are within driving distance and looking for a less crowded place to stay, consider the Flying Saddle Resort. Located in Alpine, Wyoming, we are just 45 minutes from Jackson Hole, an hour or less from Grand Teton National Park, and Grays Lake National Wildlife Refuge, and under two hours from South Yellowstone. Yet we are far more affordable and less crowded, offering a more intimate experience.

Regional Events

Events in the nearby area include, but are not limited to:

LoToJa Classic: A one-day, long-distance bike ride from Logan, UT to Jackson Hole on the first Saturday after Labor Day

Jackson Hole Marathon: A full marathon, half-marathon, and relay race held in Jackson Hole at the beginning of September

Alpine Car Show: A two-day event held in Alpine in mid-August

Fall Arts Festival and Jubilee: An 11-day arts festival held in and around Jackson Hole the second week of September

About Flying Saddle Resort

Located on the banks of the Snake River at the entrance to Snake River Canyon, Flying Saddle Resort is an excellent place to experience the local history, culture, and wildlife as well as the event that brings you to town. We are partnered with numerous local vendors to provide a wide range of activities year-round, from wildlife safaris to fly fishing trips.

The resort was built in 1949 as a gift for a returning hero of World War II. It was purchased and fully renovated in 2008. Today, we pride ourselves on providing an upscale rustic, family-friendly, full-service experience. Choose a standard motel room in the original building or a larger room with a balcony in our new Tower. Couples may want to consider a romantic, private log cabin.

On-site amenities include an upscale yet affordable steakhouse, a laid-back Western sports bar, and a large indoor heated pool with a hot tub. Our seven landscaped acres also feature a fitness room, an outdoor patio, a tennis court, a drive-through liquor store, and a well-stocked gift shop.

Flying Saddle Resort is pet-friendly, and we are proud to welcome large groups. If you are looking for an affordable yet full-service base camp for your next regional event, call Flying Saddle Resort today at 877-772-4422 to make your reservation!
