The Jackson Hole-Grand Teton-Yellowstone area is well known around the globe as one of the most scenic areas in the United States. People flock to the region year-round for wildlife safaris and photography tours. Naturally, this means that crowds in the tourist towns can be huge, even in the dead of winter. If you are looking for an affordable and less-crowded base camp for your wildlife safari or photography tour, consider the Flying Saddle Resort in Alpine, Wyoming.
Wildlife Safaris
Our region is packed with wildlife including deer, elk, bull moose, and bison. A herd of mountain goats makes their home in a canyon near our resort. Whether you prefer to view the wildlife from the comfort of a climate-controlled van, on an ATV, or even by foot, our partner vendors can give you an up close and personal wildlife safari you will never forget.
Photography Tours
Our partner vendors also offer a wide range of photography tours for all skill levels from novice to expert. In a small group with an acclaimed photographer as your guide, you will learn tips and tricks for shooting some of the best scenery you have ever seen. Workshops are also available for those who want to take their skills to the next level.

About Flying Saddle Resort
Flying Saddle Resort was built for a returning WWII hero in 1949. In 2008, it was purchased by the current owners and fully updated. Today, we offer an upscale yet unpretentious, family-friendly resort experience. Standard motel rooms are available in our original building, while larger rooms with balconies can be found in our new Tower. Those looking for a romantic getaway may prefer a private log cabin for two.
Our resort has an upscale yet family-friendly Western steakhouse, a laid-back Western sports bar, and a heated indoor pool with a hot tub. Our seven landscaped acres also feature a drive-through liquor store, a tennis court, an outdoor patio, a fitness room, and a gift shop. In addition to wildlife safaris and photo tours, we are partnered with local vendors for everything from golf to fishing to hiking to whitewater rafting and scenic float trips.
